I'm wondering the same thing - I'll do this mod this week if that's the case!

well mine sit about 1 inch higher that the bench and they go back far enough for me im 6'2" i have plenty of room..now Old77 did his by lowering the floor so his sit lower than mine do. and in the blazer they sit just about the same as the stock seats do. The only thing with putting them in a Blazer is they dont lean forward as far as the stock seat do so a lil bit harder to get in the back.
Old77 chim in any time man

Just now saw this....I'm a doofus.

The column in my truck is not a tilt column so it partly necessitated the way we did it or the seats would have been TOUCHING the bottom of the steering wheel which obviously wouldn't work for us  if a tilt column is present I can see where the way 78shortandwide did it would work. I also like how mine came out because they sit flush against the floor and fit "like a glove" in there.

EDIT: the link for my seat mod is linked in my sig.

I actually swapped out my bench for the buckets, console and floor shifter from a 79 cutlass. They sit a bit lower than the bench but they are much more comfortable and I like the way it seems to match the rest of the interior.

Mine required floor to be cut on my V20 I don't have any pics as my conversion is not yet complete. Hopefully be done this upcoming week. The problem I had with my truck is the hump in the floor for the fuel tank sat too high and my head was about and inch from the roof. Not real comfortable.

I know this is over 2 years old, but 78shortandwide what mods did you do to your stock seat bracket to make the seats fit?

Got any pics? Did you have to fab some brackets?

They probably would just measure the mounts to be sure.

95-98 GMT400 trucks. Fairly common swap.

ive been checking out all the threads on seat swaps... i liked the one where he cut the floor and welded on sheet metal, but i dont have a welder... is maybe finding donor brackets from the pick and pull my best bet?

For my 74 I got bench seat brackets from a 79 so I could put in my buckets.
