ACE Hardware told me they will honor Craftsman's lifetime tool warranty and exchange for the exact thing - only what they stock.

Hope this helps!
That will suck and here's why. I've been buying Craftsman tools since I was 15 years old. I'm now 52 and have most of those tools and have bought even more over the last 37 years. When those older tools break, Sears does not make them anymore and they have to give me or order to best matched replacement they can get today. If Ace only does it on items they stock, I'll be SOL on many of my old tools. I exchanged a screw driver yesterday that was 29 years old. I know this because it was one of my favorites with a nice grip and a different material tip. The tip wore away and it just strips phillips screws now. They had to replace it with the X-Treme Grip gray/black handle screwdriver with the diamond tip. The tip # length and size were identical. Just a differnt material on the handle and shaft.

These X-Treme Grip screwdrivers are pretty nice btw. Especially for people like me with fuct up hands with nerve damage and arthritis. I got this set in part of the deals posted above. The one I exchanged yesterday, it longer #2 than was in this set, so that replacement I didn't mind. It'll go along with this set now.

Sears sold the craftsman name to black and decker last year

And most all the craftsman tools are now made in communist China
Sears now pays 80% less for the tools But they didn’t lower the price
Why pay the craftsman price they used to charge for made in USA tools for Chinese tools with the craftsman logo on em ?

I’ve given up on buying craftsman and now just grab whatever is available at Lowe’s and **** depot
Or northern tool or harbor freight
They are all made in China now
I think the only tools still made in America are snap on and others that have tool truck routes and add an extra 0 on the price

I’ve not broken any tools from harbor or northern

I’m sure sears will be gone as soon as the CEO gets through looting the company and loading up his golden parachute

I know what you mean. I've bought alot at HF and played the crap shoot game. Some is junk, but some of it seems to be just as good as Craftsman and alot of it is Lifetime Warranty too. I'm not afraid of their wrenches, ratchets and sockets. Some of it even looks better than what you get at Sears, like the polished wrenches.

Added ratcheting wrenches on sale for $59.99 - $10 coupon when I got a new battery and $10 off for signing up for a Sears card so I paid $39.99 + Tax. SAE and Metric 20 pc. set. (And service manager knocked $20 off battery for price match when reward points wouldn't apply off old card.)...WooHoo!

I used to turn my nose up on ratcheting wrenches... until I used one. Wow game changer indeed!

Exactly what I was just posting about them on the other New Tools thread. Figured what a waste until I got into a situation I wish I had one. Of course everything that I needed them on was small and foreign, so I just got the metric set and use them frequently working on the rice.

I did the same thing. I thought they were some gimick. Now I've got both Metric and Standard sets.

I can get this on eBay for $104 and been waiting to see if I can get it cheaper for a couple of months. Then I seen Sears had it on sale for $109.50 and figured WTH, by the time I used a $10 FREE CASH coupon on it, I'll get it a hair cheaper than eBay and know it's a good one since it's from a retailer and no chance it's a bootleg or refurb unit. Also that I scored $50 in Cash Points to purchase something else, so I finally did it.

No, it's no cheapie code reader. This one does European and *** cars as well SRS Air Bags and ABS brake codes and has a scanner to watch things like O2 sensor readouts. Normally a $249-$269 tool.

Order Summary
Merchandise Subtotal$109.50

Points You've Redeemed-$10.21

Pre-Tax Subtotal$99.29

Sales Tax$8.56

Order Total
$107.85

You've earned $49.65 in points on this order.

So with the points, I have the C3 Cordelss Impact wrench that I use daily for 2 years now doing tire changes and can't seem to kill it, so I also got the Impact driver and Cordless drill with 2 more batteries and another charger. Today I got the reciprocating saw for FREE that uses and shares those batteries. Normally $69.99 on sale for $59.99.

Order Summary
Merchandise Subtotal$59.99

Points You've Redeemed-$59.99

Pre-Tax Subtotal$0.00

Sales Tax$0.00

Flexhead finetoothed tear drop ratchet. These are badass when changing sparkplugs in tight places when you use a sparkplug socket with a built in swivel.

I might have spent to much for it though. It cost me about .50 cents in gas to go pick it up.

That ratchet isn't fine toothed like I had been told, but it still seems good. The price was right so I'll be OK with it.
