What precautions will you take to prevent rubber to metal carnage?

I'm hoping it won't rub 6 inches in the back 4 in the front. You think they'll rub?

I promise you they will. You can mitigate some of it by moving your front axle forward. Get a Zero Rate from OFD.
http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/Zero Rates.htm

You can move your axle forward safely and effectively with this little gem.
You still may need to trim some metal, depends how you use the truck. Any semi-serious wheeling in this trucks future?
Better be prepared for more trimming.
With axle moved forward and possibly even sliding the body back on the mounts (sometimes have about 1"1/4 of adjustment)
will help. The trim the bottom front of the fender opening, hopefully just a few inches will make a difference.
And the last part, your rims you are shopping for.... keep them narrow and 4.5" backspacing at the most. An 8.5 inch rim
width is not too narrow for a 35" tire. Next size up is 10" and this will certainly cause more metal to rubber tears.

Even a 6" lift (providing the springs flex enough, many aftermarket 6" springs are stiff like my dick and won't flex to bottom out)
will still allow fender benders, if you twist it up enough off road.

Sorry don't mean to rain on your parade, just bringing up some issues that just don't go away on their own.

The truck still needs to be fully finished so wheeling right now is definitely out. It's got 33s on it now. The truck came with the set of 35s. I was just talking sh*t yesterday is all. Thanks for the knowledge though I appreciate it.

Yep, unless you want to go to trimming, them 35's are going to do some rubbing in the front. Why not 6 inch in the front and 4 in the rear? With 6in front lift and the right offset, you might be Ok with moderate wheeling.

I’m guessing he has it setup like that to get rid of suburban sag lol

It's going to rub in front. I had this truck in the early 90's. It had a 4" lift with 33's (32.8" actual height) with and they would rub unless I did some minor trimming. I don't know what the wheel back-spacing was, but I would guess around 4.5". They were 9.75" wide.

Nice lol. I’m gonna do a 56 inch spring swap and do a shackle flip with it.

Damn, that's a nice looking truck. But really? Even 33's rubbed with a 4in lift? That's was I was hoping to run on my K10/20 truck. I was just going to go with 33's so I'd never have to worry about rubbing. ****, if I'm going to have to deal with that, may as well run the 35's and figure out what I'm going to do about it. Maybe a 1in body lift. I won't go any more than that for a body lift.
