I'm sorry if this has already been discussed but could not find it. My 84 k10 has power lock and windows. I got the windows going but having trouble with the locks. I have tested the switches and actuators and they test good. I found what I believe is the relay mounted above the gas pedal, Is there a relay replacement for the locks that can be purchased or something else that can be done ?

I know there is for sure on the power windows, but I can't remember if there is a circuit breaker for the power locks in the fuse block or not. I had problems with one of my trucks and the power locks and I just can't recall what I did now but it seemed to be something simple and I didn't purchase any new parts. Seems I robbed a fuse or circuit breaker box from another truck. Hopefully someone else with a fresh mind will be here shortly.

@chengny usually has a diagram that can be helpful.

:waytogo: If I had my way and I'd like to someday, is get rid of the Tech Discussion forum. I think we have a forum for just about everything to fit into, but it's moving all those threads out first before I eliminate it is the reason I haven't. Tech Discussion was here from day one

The locks have a relay that I think is obsolete, but I think it also doesn't fail very often at all. I seem to recall @gmachinz offering a suitable replacement for sale.

I’ve got many good used ones as well as NOS replacements that will work too...they require being securing screwed to metal for them to ground to also. $20 for used GM or $35 for NOS GM relays.

It's a discontinued part. Best luck is going to be a boneyard. 1975 and up. Not necessarily a truck.

Another option: go to your nearest auto salvage yard. Find a door lock relay from a late 80hp early 2000s GM car or truck.

Looks like this: make sure you get the matching harness plug. The wire colors and function match up, the only thing required is to ground the black wire. The original relay grounds thru the mounting bracket, the late model is plastic and requires a ground wire.

I used this relay on my 81 GMC, I adapted G body door lock actuators on my 69 Olds, using this same relay. It works perfectly.
