Hi folks! New to the forum and new owner of a fantastic , barn-find, 86 c20 suburban. I am going to remove the anti-smog components from my 454. Should I just plug the manifold (7/8 inch head on bolts, but no idea what size the bolt actually is...nor does any part store around me) or should I make the purchase of headers and plug and play? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

If you're just going to keep the 454 stock at this point, no need for headers. Just run dual exhaust, minimum of 2.5". Be sure the mufflers you use don't neck down inside any smaller than 2.5".

Welcome to the site Rick.

I'm not sure but I think you will need pipe threaded plugs. With the tapered threads. Whatever, use thread seal.

If you installed headers most of your exhaust system would have to be redone. So quite a bit more work...
