Parking brake pedal

Hi guys,

My parking brake pedal is currently held up by wires. If I remove the wires, the pedal slowly goes down and activates the brake light on the instrument panel.

Is there a way to tighten the cable for the parking brake or do I need to replace the cable?

So if I'm reading this thread correctly, my problem might be in the cable or the spring. Is the cable easier to get to? It looks like it from the pics.

Try adjusting the cable first. I recently rebuilt my rear brakes and had to replace one of the parking brake cables. I haven't dialed in the parking brakes yet as the motor is getting pulled. In my case the e-brake will not hold my truck, but I think that is due to the brakes being out of adjustment.

There should be a thick wire running under the truck, and with the brake up it should be taught, not tight
