I've searched the threads and can't find the info I need. I'm currently rebuilding my 208 and the manuals/diagrams I'm using show 3 keys and 2 spring clips I'm supposed to install that weren't there during tear down. After a bit of looking I figured out they're the Mode Keys/ synchro dogs and springs. My question to you guys is: are these damn things all that important or can I power through my build and get my truck back by Monday?

Yep, they're important. 208s that pop out of 4wd often, if not shifting linkage related, is because of these components being worn or weak. If they're not in place it's hard to tell what might happen. High/low range trying to engage at the same time? Front output one range, rear output another? Front output only? Who knows, I wouldn't want to risk it. You know you would just be pulling it out again later, either to make it right or to replace one that grenaded with a good one.
