Greetings to all. I'm from Luther, OK and recently bought a '78 C10 Custom Deluxe to take care of my mid life crisis itch. It's pretty rough on the outside but has a solid rebuilt '97 350 Vortec motor and is a solid driver. I've been having fun doing some cosmetics on it (sanding off rust...) and look forward to seeing her blossom!

That is a nice truck. I know it's yours and all, but if it were mine, I'd get a set of elephant mirrors for it, do a Jeep XJ steering shaft mod, brace the hood since it's still in good shape, clean up/paint the wheels the argent silver color that they came, maybe get a used fender if you didn't feel like tackling the rust, and either run it as is or paint it however you see fit. Sounds like the powertrain is awesome, and I can't speak to the interior, but those are usually easy projects. In the end, make your vision for it come to life, but I think it's definitely a good start.

Welcome from Moore/OKC. I like that truck just as it is. I agree with knocking off the surface rust, but what I see I'd with that truck... I'd sand it down and knock off the thicker parts of the surface rust, don't take it down to bare metal. Just knock off the surface. Leave those rusted cancer spots alone too. Just clean then out and spray inside them with undercoat to drastically slow down the cancer and maybe even get it in remission, I'd even leave that dent in that fender too. Just sand it, undercoat the interior of the cancer, leave the dent and Clear Coat it. Then, get a nice set of wheels and tires for it and call it done.

Welcome
Nice truck. Sure does need some TLC as most of the old iron does.

Hello from Central Missouri. Good solid base to start with that's for sure.
