Do all 4l60e transmission neutral switches interchange i received a 2002 transmission from a 5.3l truck with 2 seperate plugs. The motor i bought came with a harness that has 1 plug with 11 pins it's a 1 piece connector. Motor came from a 2004 suburban wondering if changing the neutral safety switch will work or do i need to get a 2004 transmission or newer to work properly

ehhhh, I'm not swearing to anything cuz I'm not near as familiar with later model stuff and know just enough to get in trouble. So with that said, I think what your're talking about as this transmission you have has 2 plugs, being the plug for the transmission operation, then another plug that's on a switch where the manual trans shift linkage connects. Then this engine harness you have having the 1 connector for the transmission if the for the connector to operate the transmission. The plug that you'd be missing is likely a chassis plug from the body to P N safety switch and back up lights that is part of the manaul shift linkage on the side of the transmission.

That's the switch I'm asking about the Park -Neutral switch. Wondering if i can replace it to fit my single connector being that the transmission has 2 connectors because it's a 2002 4l60e and the motor and harness is from a 2004 suburban the transmission they sent me is from a truck with the 5.3 engine i can't find any information that tells me if i can just replace the switch to the newer style

If your doing an LS swap, you don't need the neutral safety switch. For my swap I purchased one not knowing this. I went ahead and bypassed it due to simplicity. I'll post a link in a minute.

[edit] crap I can't find the detailed info. Makes me question what I did now. I searched neutral safety switch and got in the ball park in Dougberts post and foamy's comments as well.

Yeah need to find someone to do a standalone harness but not sure if it will work without the pn safety switch never done something like this before not sure how it would start the truck without it it's an L59 flexfuel motor from 2004 suburban going into a 1983 Chevy Silverado c10

I've got a loose wire going to pin 34 (LS not installed yet). This wire will hook up to the current vehicles neutral safety switch wire. Look at pin 34 on the blue connector....see note highlighted in green. It says the same for 99-02 and 03-07 harness's.

My transmission guy gave me the safety neutral park switch i needed so good to go in that department. I should of asked him if the yoke from my 83 700r4 would fit the 4l60e transmission i have has a sticker on it that identifiesit as a 2cjd transmission gave it a try to see if it would fit but didn't really give it too much of an effort some people say it fit just don't want to damage the spines on the tail end. Got to find some time to get back to the transmission guy see if theres something else i got to use
