Both it takes up the extra 2inches of shaft length. They do also have a shorter output shaft for the 700r

My pic's are working on this side.
Does that mean you can use your original 203 driveshafts?

Thanks Everyone!

All my old pics are gone. The D20 has an adapter that bolts to a fixed yoke style 2wd th400. With out the yoke on of course. Jeep used a Nailhead style th400 in the J10s and 20s

I had that combo in an 84 shortbed a lot of years ago. used a short output shaft in the 700 so it would mate to the 205 without a spacer. 27 spline output, 27 spline input on the 205. worked pretty slick. think I got the shaft from off road design. was having the 700 built and beefed anyway, so they just put the new shaft in while it was apart.

It makes me wonder how to use my 203 driveshafts with that?

I did take a look
I was thinking of using the female 27 spline shaft on the 205 side.
With what I have and adding a spacer with that I sometimes think
I can use my 203 driveshafts.

I couldn't say about that. I had new driveshafts made since I also lifted it 6 inches

That's a Th350 with the good torque converter. Don't lose that one, it's gold these days. Notice the mounting pads that use hardened bolt and nut to mount it instead of bolt lugs. Those are getting hard to find and high core charges for that type when you need a rebuilt one. And that is strongest Th350 converter. I even use those in race Th400 transmissions. I have one with a 3000 stall I've used in both Th350 and Th400's.

That is a Th350/NP203 Combo. Though the transfer case pics weren't all that great for ID, and to @theblindchicken, in the first pics that weren't very good at all I knew it was an NP203 cuz I knew it wasn't an NP208 or NP241C, so that leaves the choices of NP203 or NP205. NP203, speedo cable comes on on the driver side, NP205 comes in on the passenger side.

See, you do learn something new every day. And there are different tailshaft housings also and why it looked different than yours.
My '78 chassis has what I'm sure is a 203 and the speedo cable comes in on the right. The T-case doesn't have a drain plug or the three bolt cover to the right and above the fill plug which would indicate it being a 205.
