I have had the instrument cluster numerous times over the years and have never seen a resistor behind the fuel gauge until the last time I took it apart the gauge worked. Then I had a loose connection and the gauge showed empty on both tanks it is a dual tank c10 1984. When I reconnected the gauge it now shows above full at about the 3 o’clock position. If it is full or empty. Is it possible it never had a resistor? Do I just need to open it up again an check the connection. Also the instrument lights are so dim you can barley tell they are on. I replaced the alternator that wasn’t charging and installed a new light switch which didn’t help.
