I have 1979 GMC k15 I'm building that I plan on converting to 3/4 ton & want to swap a pair of newer springs from a 2500hd to increase ride quality & load capacity; my question is how do I go about this to ensure keeping everything is kept straight?

Measure, measure and measure. The hardest part of getting it screwed together properly will be getting the shackle angle correct. Will you be doing a shackle flip as well? And if you have 20 gallon fuel tanks you may have clearance issues.

I was planning on a 2.5in shackle flip and getting a 25g center mount fuel tank

Go with a 30 gallon tank. It's the same price overall and just as easy to fit. I'd say the same about the suburban 40 gallon but I think it is harder to fit because it is taller.

Iirc, the 25 gallon and 31 gallon tanks have the same footprint, but the 25 is more shallow. Then the 40 gallon tank is longer.
