My first post here! Just outlining my upcoming swap (started yesterday!) for all of those interested (Pics will be coming soon). I've gotten lucky enough for my father to give me the drivetrain and any other parts I want out of his old towing vehicle (he got a new 2016 Silverado). 2000 GMC Savana 2500 HD going into a 1983 Chevy k10 fleetside shortbed
-5.7 Vortec MFI (complete harness, radiator, etc.) with 4l80e out of 2000 GMC Savana 2500 HD
-14 bolt SF 8 lug rear end with 3.73 gears and g80 limited slip out of the Savana
-NP241 transfer case (Driver side drop) from "pick and pull"
-8 lug Dana 60 (driver side pumpkin) out of pre-97 Ford (same bolt pattern as GM) from "pick and pull"
-Ford 8 lug 16 inch wheels (124mm center bore, GM center bore is only 117 max) to replace my 16 inch 6 lug wheels from the corporate 10 bolts
The list above is just the big things, so expect to hear about every detail as this swap will kick my ass. Best part is selling the axles and drivetrain out of my k10 should pay for the whole swap! Anybody want a good deal on a carbed 5.7L Goodwrench crate mated with a rebuilt th350 run through a np208 passenger side transfer case?
