So the previous owner told me it had a 3 speed transmission in my 84 C10. I got it out on the highway and can definitely tell it’s a 2 speed. Also feels like a shift kit was put in. Is there a stamp on the case or something I can reference to find out exactly what I have without taking it somewhere?

Could be a 350 too, need to see more of the bolt pattern on the left side of the pic.

Yea I think it’s a 350, I counted the bolts and it’s 13. The 200 has 16 I think from what I’ve read.

The TH200 in the picture has 11 if I counted right. The TH350 has 13, though.

Good to know that it’s a 350

My TH400 feels like a 2 speed too. I seems like it needs 3 or 4 more gears at highway speeds. I would like to put a 4L80E in it but that project is low on the list at this point.

Ok...and that’s why people don’t like asking for help

I’m not sure that was meant for anything but humor but I know what you mean. I used to be on another forum and when I asked a question there was one guy who would immediately answer, act like I was stupid and almost never paid attention to the question or had the correct information. I saw he did it to everyone so I didn’t feel singled out but when he did it to a guy asking about a source for wheels for his pro touring truck, the OP got a list of things this moderator(yes moderator) would change about the truck and told him his wheels were fine. I PM’d the guy and told him to come over here. Don’t know if he ever did but I hope so.

So in conclusion, feel free to ask questions and don’t get discouraged if you’re feeling slighted. I’m a bit of a smart ass myself and I’m not sure it always comes across the way it was meant but I would expect to get called out if I offended someone.
