Ohh if anyone sees this doing the tire/shaft rotation formula Does the size of the tire matter when doing the test?

Tire size does not matter :)

Of course not. That's kinda like what weighs more, 1000lbs of feathers or a 1000lbs of stones? For the purpose of this test,1 full rotation is 1 full rotation no matter if it's a 26in tire or a 44in tire.

Now of course if the tire was on the ground, the difference would be, the bigger tire will go more distance with 1 full rotation, but that's not the purpose of the test and that's why it doesn't matter the tire size for the test.

Welcome to GMSB. I'll be expecting to see some pics of your truck with some Hawaiian scenery.

The tire size is irrelevant. Take a point on the tire mark with chalk if possible and make one full rotation. The amount of times the drive shaft turns is your ratio.

Need to know the tire diameter and what RPM and speed you want to cruise at before we can recommend a gear ratio..

First suggestion I always make is, look in the glove box for your RPO code sheet.

Here is the RPO sheet from my truck. All I see is Variable Power Ratio. I would like to change the ratio to be able to drive 70 on the freeway without feeling like the rear end is going to blow up, or the high rpm's are going to throw a piston.

If your axle is clean, you can reference the stamped numbers on one of the tubes to the list in the reference library. It will tell you the stock ratio that particular axle came with. Rear Axle Code List

You could also easily pop off the diff cover (might as well change the fluid while you're at it) and count the teeth on the ring and pinion and calculate it out that way.
