With the purchase of a new truck bed coming very soon the bed sides don't have square fuel filler doors which I prefer. So that has me wondering has anybody ever relocated their filler door anywhere else for there gas tanks? Any ideas would be great thanks.

From what I can see basically cut a hole run the hose to it put a hinge on rear light and that's it?

you need a way to fasten the light back once closed so it doesn't flop or move and in a way you don't need tools to fill p at the pump.

I freakin love it though, was just telling my old man about doing a blazer tank in his 84 then figure out a filler neck because in the bed floor doesn't work, not when you haul stuff. I love the taillight idea, he keeps thinking flip down license plate like a camaro.

now there's a thought, hinge the taillight with camaro license plate hinges, they have a spring so they could hold the light back in place without a fastner.

Or just a really strong hinge in general I'm just trying to think of one that's strong and not very big but the camaro license plate hinge would do the trick.

awesome

I know this thread is a bit old but I was wondering if anyone did actually do and could get some more pics and instructions. The picture of it done to the blazer is super slick.

my thought was to use the hinge from a gas door. maybe one off a small car would have to look around at the junk yard to see what might work

get one that has a latch with a cable release and put the release lever inside the cab
