Hi, im Derek im from Redding CA.
Here is a pic of my 82 C10 Suburban. I have owned it since 2005, picked it up from a retired forest service ranger (Greg Watkins) for $500 bucks. It is a retired forest service rig (if not obvious lol). He knew the previous history of the truck from the date it was put in service. So I know almost all of it's history and progeny and I never plan on selling it. I love my old school squarebody! As ugly as it is, I always get compliments from people about it, chicks just dig it, I have no idea why. It's a party machine that holds many memories for me.
Working on it today has almost become a nostalgic experience, it seems so ancient to todays rigs, and I love it simply for that character and simplicity.
The truck is mostly stock, I yanked the engine and trans out back in 2010 just because it had 250+K on the clock, it smoked a little and the trans slipped. Today it runs like new. I will look to some of the C10 gurus on here as I go through the truck to address some old age issues, I just sorted out a charging/electrical problem with help from a member, shout out to chengny!. I put a new magnaflow exhaust on it a week ago, as the flowmaster unit on it was full of holes after a decade! Anyway, hopefully I will get some better pics to share.
