Placing the tool in the teeth of the flywheel and wedging it against the transmission dowel pin keeps the crankshaft in an assembled engine from rotating, while torqueing the harmonic balancer bolt or using the aforementioned compressed air in the cylinder.

I'm guessing driver for freeze plugs or the welch plug for the camshaft.

Pretty close -

I am guessing that the slide hammer has a specific purpose?


Yes - it is used for pulling the rear axle carrier out of the housing on a Pontiac rear. Attach the countersunk hole to one of the ring gear bolts and slide away!

(Dad always called it a "whopper knocker").

The second one is for installing the pinion bearing on the gear.

Were getting down to the tough ones now. This one I suspect you will never get. (Just because there is not much to it, and its geometry really doesn't give much of a clue as to its specific purpose) -

Actually - I think it was a big socket head cap screw that has been turned down to a specific diameter.
