I think there's some small rubber bumpers that are usually missing or maybe never there to begin with on the door. That can cause a pretty good rattle. Also just general looseness that comes with age.

Yeah I got some of that tape with thin foam on the other side and cured the rattle on my last squarebody.

Good tip...I might have to try that out. I have an annoying rattle from the glovebox door, and then one from the inside of the passenger door as well....

Do what I did... just fold you up a piece of paper, and slip it in the side of the box.... done deal.... :) (until I realized they could be tightened up at the latch, of course)

Its somethiing else if your latch mechanism is nice and tight, which most are, but some do come loose.

Yep, that's wonderful, and a great idea. That piano hinge will work out great. Thanks for the time and effort for the write up too. Those write ups really help with site growth espeically when titled correctly and in the right category. I'd really like to see if Shaggy might be interested in installing a reputation feature in the forum so the ones who do the write ups at least get a little star or some sort of kudos by their name. :High 5:

I don't like the latest version of vbulletin, but it does have a feature to thank posters for good posts.

There is reputation parts in the old versions of Vbulletin too. Just a matter if the admin has installed them or not. We do have thread rating here though, but it doesn't give kudos to the member specifially.
I'll agree, I don't like the latest version of Vbulletin either.

May have to go pick up a new latch. Gotta be easy to find at a pick-n-pull
