hey guys, i ended up biting the bullet and bought an fitech efi 600 hp with the command center. been hearing good stuff about these products and seems to resolve some of the issue of boiling the gas from the vent. im still in the process of installing it on the car but heres some pix. as of right now i need to modify the throttle cable bracket, unless somebody knows an aftermarket bracket that would work with the th350

So I'm the LMC catalog I notice they have the main edit system but then the fuel command center (which I see you're installing) and the fuel deliver kit. Are all three components required? If not, what is required and what is the necessity for the other components?

The fuel command center is what I see everyone having issues with. For about the same price as that extra tank you can run an 87 model efi tank an sending unit a 96 model fuel pump an then AN lines to the efi unit. They need 58 psi just like an LS an have their own regulator I believe. I'm looking into these units to an this is my plan for the fuel delivery side. I've narrowed my choices to the fitech or holley unit. Good luck with your swap, I'll be watching for the results to!

The fuel command kit is so you can use a mechanical pump to feed a little can, which is then high pressure to the unit. As someone else said, you can just mod an 87 sending unit.

finally got it finish. damn cali rain. ill will post up pix and video soon. Wiring the fitech is literally 4 wires if you have no frills with fan control and msd box. Starts up quick, but having some throttle surging, which could be caused from the 6 month old gas thats in the truck. still need some fine tuning and to reroute the wires to make it look better but so far its making me like my truck again

Hopefully you can get the idle surging to go away. That is my main complaint with my Edelbrock E-Street EFI. Only happens when the engine is fully warm, and then typically happens in the summer (hot weather). If it keeps doing it this summer I'm thinking about switching to either Holley or this fitech.

From what I've read these systems learn over time so it may take a few warm-up cycles and driving cycles for it to get squared away depending on your location. If your area normally has warm days it wont take much for it to learn but if you have 20 degree mornings and 60 degree days it will probably have a learning curve of a few days. I wanna see some video lol I've watched several from initial fire-ups to driving around, to getting down on it and I'm impressed every time.

I helped a friend of mine install a FiTech Go EFI 4 system and fuel command center on a 383 in his 56 Chevy last summer. We had a couple minor issues (one being unstable idle), but tech support was awesome. They usually answered the phone after a couple rings and always had a solution at hand, which typically involved changing ECU parameters.

The only installation issue we had was with the push-on fuel lines. It was very hard to push them on the fittings, even with lubricant. I learned later that there's a tool to do it properly.

If I ever go to EFI on my 82 C10, I will use a factory type pump, but will have to run a return line.

ok heres an update. i've been driving the truck for 2 days now locally around town to get the fitech to learn, however i've been having an issue at low rpm acceleration. When i press the gas hard and just normal i can hear the engine work but the truck feels like im towing something behind me. literally has no power, until it his roughly 25-30mph and then it works normally . anybody knows what the problem. truck is all stock beside the fitech injection. my buddy think its the distributor vacuum but that is directily connected to the fitech vacuum port. fyi i do get rid of the christmas vacuum port thingie that was mounted on the thermostat housing. Maybe it has something to with that. i dunno
