I'm going to be replacing pads and shoes this weekend on my 3/4 ton. What pads do you guys use? I'm going to do cheap shoes as I will be converting to rear discs this spring.

I used the NAPA organics. They have two levels of those, and I got the higher one. The noise is minimal, and the performance is good. Organic pads and shoes are gonna be the cheapest ones no mater what. Make sure you get the drums and rotors turned before you change them, or you'll wear out the pads and shoes faster and more unevenly.

Walker MX52 semi-metallic or SX52 Severe Duty semi-metallic. My manual brake 82 C10 has the MX52 pads, and they work very well.

Good prices at rockauto.com. And they will have some very cheap shoes.
