If you go the crate route, what to do with an old tired one that'll make a good rebuild? Just put it on CL? Do most retailers like Summit take the old one as a core?

My old motor was just the 305 so I sold it to a dude for $50 back in 2003 which was before CL was big and all that stuff. I was just ready for it to be out of my garage so I took the $50 and moved on my way. I rebuildable 350 may go for more than that, though, or at least I'd expect it to.

For me, I'd think a 305 now days is worth ZERO, and a good rebuildable 350 core is worth $50-$150 depending on 2 bolt or 4 bolt, 1 piece or 2 piece Rear Main block, standard bore or not. Maybe even high as $200 for a standard bore OE Vortec roller 350 with Vortec heads so long as it's all rebuildable and usable.

You're probably right on that  I don't remember what he was going to use it for but I knew it wasn't highly desirable even in '03 so give me my $50 and take that paper weight away from my house :happy175:
