Hi guys just joined the forum. I am a high school student working on my project truck a 1981 Chevy k10. I was curious of any suggestions on easy ways to lift the front end of my truck 4 inches. I will do a shackle flip in the rear but am still trying to figure out what to do in the front?

re-arch you existing springs add a 1" zero rate, and or new 4" springs. Please Do not use lift blocks on the front.

The cheapest way to get 4 inches in the front... Great question.

Craigslist.
Salvage yard.

Above mentioned "zero rates" give a solid inch for $40.
3 to go!
Look for used gear.
You could buy something LIKE one ton (K30) springs salvage for super cheap and get lift that way, prolly an inch seems reasonable. Somebody around here knows, it just aint me.
Thats prolly 3 inches 2.5? at absolute best, but it suuuuuure would be cheap.
2.5 will clear a 33...
Blocks in the front are bad. I don't know why but dont do it lol.
My other thoughts involve a local spring shop. "Re-arching" is possible there but IMO that is running close to buying new springs money most likely. I dont know that.
New springs aren't expensive really.

Consider adding a "spring pack" or something similar in addition to zero rates and one tons. That's some special few hyper arched springs to stick in the middle of the ones you already have. I think thats what it's called...

You could 1 inch body lift for pretty cheap.
You could prolly get 3+ pretty easy for pretty cheap.

There are other things to consider.

Brake lines
U joints / driveshaft stuff
Shock absorbers
Steering arms
Bolts and hardware

Dont bite off more than you can chew.

DO NOT use blocks in front, it's illegal in most every state.

Buy new springs, get some used like I have, or buy new for cheap complete kits go from $350 or so and just front springs you can get for maybe $200 or so less if used. You'll need the raised steering arm, new u bolts and longer shocks to make it work. You also have to extend or move your brake lines, you can buy longer ones or you can maybe take them loose from the frame and carefully bend them to let them sit lower.

another way on the cheap is to get rear leafs 52's as they call em, and either get the diy4x b52 kit to replace the front hangers, or you can get the rivets out and swap sides of the hangers, use the 52's but I was told they are very flexy and wouldn't be good on road use, others said good shocks help fix that
