So, I have tried a razor blade, rag of gas and nail polish remover. Nothing is working. The color of the paint is gone, but a residue of some sort is left over. Any idea how to tackle that? I might have a picture of it in my sig link gallery.

Thanks!

Acetone...its powerfull and evaporates quickly. If that doesn't work try laquer thinner.

Next step is xylene but make sure you wear gloves and be in a well ventilated area. Thats powerfull stuff so mind the drips!

xylene.....someone gave me a recipe to add to fuel tank years ago to increase mileage that included it. I'll start a separate thread if I find results worth a crap.

Not all is equal tho. Like rubbing alcohol the content is measured by percentage so read the label and look for a higher percentage.

I just looked at the MSDS for Gumout jet spray carb cleaner. That has MEK and Naptha in it. If you try that you will have a use for the leftovers. MEK is strong stuff too.

Also 0000 grade steel wool is ok for use on glass. 0000 is ultra fine finish.

I lost the razor blade, but the carb cleaner and rag didn't do anything anyways. Maybe it's not paint, but just something else? I'll snag a pic tomorrow when the sun is out.
