Me too. ^

I was quick to paint over the orange 010 block in the SS..ofc it's black. The C20s L98 is black. I'm really torn to leave the Blazer's 400 orange or to paint it what did he say? Navy gray? Okay...sounds cool. Battleship gray? I need pix of that 327 friend, let's have em!

Only angle I have of the crusty old bird until I get it up on the engine stand. Notice the creative bolt washer arrangement on the alternator bracket. Old-timers will re-use anything usable.

I have wondered about this for so many years. Why isn't it an option on a new vehicle???

Yes, I would like the blue silicone hoses, with the hot pink engine, please....
I reckon you'll have to pay for that with three dollar bills.

The previous owner had the receipts for the rebuild. It was done at a machine shop in California. Before that I’m not sure of the history of the motor to be honest. When I got the truck I looked up the motor serial number in to confirm it was a 327. I can’t remember what else it said.

I think '68-'69 was the switch to "long" water pump. 1969?
Last year of a factory 327 was....?
Whatever. It's cool but it don't look very gray to me. :)

What year did the valve cover bolt pattern change? 1965-1966? That OE intake should have had an oil fill tube in it, just sayin.

69 passenger cars went to the long pump, and accessory bolt holes in the heads. I think it was 70-72 pickups went long 69 was last year of the 327 2 barrel powered. 55-56 heads had staggered bolts 57 started the straight across bolts.

You missed it 2 years.. '59 was the first year for "straight across" bolts.. Had to do with intake port size and spacing.. Some "late" '58s had the bolt relocation..

I had the very good fortune to go to 3 of his shows at The Fox Inn. They should've had rooms! He was truly good people. Man did my sides hurt from laughing the whole time.
