Binding while turning

Need some help here, i'm stumped.

1978 K15 binds up turning right under braking.

Front calipers and rotors are in good shape.

Replaced this spring (no issues then)
-steering stabilizer
-tie rod (inner/outer)
-drag link
-body bushings
-sway bar bushings
-driver front axle u-joint
-wheel bearings
-warn locking hubs
-spindle bearings
-shocks
-upper/Lower ball joints
-(used) rear axle shafts

Just replaced 200 miles ago
-rear drums
-entire drum hardware
-rear brake cylinders
-parking brake cables

I took the drums off and the shoes have uneven wear on them. Is this because they're not adjusted correctly?

It did this before and I replaced passenger u-joint and it was fine. Drove for a while, started again, found the driver front lugs were loose, tightened them, fine. Now again. ONLY when turning right though. Leaf springs are sagging pretty bad (1" off bumpstop)


Any ideas?

Also truck has a np203 transfer case with 4x2 part time kit. This happens in 2hi with front hubs UNlocked

How about hoses? Because when rotting internally they can act like check valves. But then again only right turns.... hmmm

Trying looking for shiny wear/witness marks everywhere on the right side.
Can you post pics of the uneven wear of the shoes?
Maybe try jacking it up on 4 stands. Turn the wheel & lightly brake with a helper. Then go around turning wheels & look & feel for binding. ... Try it running & while off. Try different braking strengths too (pressure applied to the pedal), from light to heavier.

Is it binding or are you getting axle wrap?

I've got a bit of axle wrap on my truck that you'd only notice on a sharp left or right turn. Biggest source of wrapping in my truck is in the front springs.

I've got a bit of axle wrap on my truck that you'd only notice on a sharp left or right turn. Biggest source of wrapping in my truck is in the front springs.
I think he has the 4x2 conversion o his 203 with lock outs. Axle wrap is a condition under load. There shouldn't be any load on the front axle. My bad the axle could be rolling under braking and binding the rear shackle or grinding the spring eye on the frame.

Stock ride height. Leaf spring bushings are toast all around, and spring leafs are starting to shift. 2" Lift Tuff Country EZ Rides are already ordered.
