Thanks...I get more comments about the wheels then I would have imagined. Wheels are always the toughest to decide on. I wanted something different.
What are the specifics on your wheels/tires. Size, type, etc. I'm still up in the air for my truck (El Chapo), but do l

I picked up the wheels and tires combo from a shop in Mesa called Tires to Go. They are a staggered setup...20x8 in the front and 20x10 in the rear. They are Riddler wheels, but not sure of the backspacing. I left that up to the guys at the shop to figure out. The price of the wheels and tires didn't break the bank and I have only seen a few squares with them on.

I made some progress on the 64 c10 this weekend. Finally finished the bed and installed the new wood planks. I still have a long list of items to address, but I am making progress.

Next item on the to do list is to fabricate the mechanism that will ultimately lift the center section of the bed for access to the rear mounted fuel tank and the compressor, bags and air lines.

cool. interested in seeing that. i am planning to just put a piano hinge on one side of mine access panel cover and lift it by hand. little prop rod to keep it up.

Well...the center section is officially done. I just finished up installing the lifts and fabricated some latches utilitzing some old wrenches in the process. With that done, I am going to move on to the front suspension in order to make clearance and new inner fenders for the bags.

Fwiw...if you need the part numbers for the lifts, let me know. I went through three sets before I found the correct amount of lift and pressure to raise the floor.

With the center section of the bed up, I now have access to plumb and mount the compressors, tanks and supply lines. I am also planning ahead for the fuel tank to be mounted under the back section of the bed as well. I did not want to plumb the fuel fill cap through the bed on this build.

I will be the first to admit that raising the bed floor ( it was raised 7 inches from stock)...was a lot more work than I originally thought. Although its pretty straight forward, a lot of planning out and thinking ahead. ..not to mention welding went into this. Oh well...at least I can cross it off of my list of things that I have always wanted to do. Measure three times...weld once ! The nice part of this build is that the bed floor is wood and not steel. I also replaced all of the floor wood as well...aging and distressing it a bit in the process. I did not want the new wood floor to look new.

I can already anticipate the sparks thrown once this is ready for a road test. Muhahahaha!

Thanks man !

I never would have thought that doing the bed this way would be so much work geez. I have a lot of appreciation for the guys that do this. This build, other than not doing bodywork is definately gonna be fun. I will be sure to post up more build pics. I hope to be done with all the welding fab before it reaches 100 plus degrees outside.

Excellent work. I can't hardly wait to install mine. Working on all the wiring and pluming under the bed floor right now, so I am having to wait. Almost ready though. Good work on your install. i like it.
