I'm really jonesing for an extra cab 2wd S-10 to daily so I can sell my Silverado for a plow rig. Found a GMC that the wife loves and she can learn stick in. I shouldn't, but man it's a clean one....

This one isn't terrible and is priced right though.

I don't know about losing the Silverado but i like those s10s in that body allot. I had one with the 2.8 and it ran good but every one I've driven had wrist pin noise. My 86 i remember getting 18mpg. V8 swapped a couple with a friend. My favorite swap was turbo 6.5 in one, that one was fast!!

I didn't see the 4.3 one before. That one is priced more decent. Looks like door hinge bushings and pins needed. No biggie

The Silverado is a 4.8 4x4 X Cab with 300k. It's in great shape, but if I'm going to dump cash on fuel I'd rather it be in the '84 or the '86 square plow truck my mechanic has. At least it would be seasonal and save my back. Either of these would work for us, but the baby squares are thin on availability in decent shape.

If v8 swap was even on my mind I'd just buy this one. $10k Sounds healthy!

A v8 swap on the old s10 2.8 trucks is dirt simple, really cheap, run great and can get really good mpg. In case you find a truck Seriously needing an engine rebuild you that can buy right. My 305 swapped S10 got better mpg than my factory 4.3 truck. Seriously I bought an 84 Camaro 305 4bbl car wrecked and rusty. Everything I needed was in the Camaro down to the exhaust manifolds. All I had to buy was a junkyard drive shaft and make motor mounts. Stock 305 was more than enough for a d.d. and gas milage was great.

I’m trying to trade for an S10 extended cab myself. I have a regular cab long bed 90 that I inherited from my father, but would like an extended cab one too for more room

If I can get pics to load. Bought this 91 X-cab for our G-son, 4.3, 700R4, P. windows, VERY clean 119700 miles, paid $3000. Drove it home from Elgin OR to Weiser ID 114 miles, got almost 21 mpg. Taking it back to Marshall MO. next Wednesday for Brody.

I saw Idahoevett's g-son truck the other day then just saw this thread on Baby Square.

This came out a few days back on CL.

It is out in the west Texas Big Bend area.

Ad says it is a diesel.
