So the radio a bought from an '85 works fine...except for changing stations.

I can hit the buttons to change the stations that are saved and it works, I can turn it on and turn it off...but I can't change the station with the knob!

The knob turns but the orange frequency indicator doesn't move. :banghead:

I realize I got what I paid for ($5) but is there any easy way to fix this since the knob turns and the radio works otherwise?

So it won't change stations even though the knob is turned?

I can't recall exactly how those worked...I fool with the later ETRs...

Well, I'm going to call around for a radio/electronics repair shop to see what it would run to have them fix it. I couldn't find anything inherently wrong with it when I took the cover off. The knob turns a screw inside the radio, but after that I'm lost because I don't want to mess with the circuit boards. Couldn't get a little nut to come off a board and didn't want to break it even more.

Oh, so you are still getting this fixed then. You acquired another one though right? Maybe I misunderstood you post in the other thread.

Yes, still needs to be fixed. I bought it yesterday for $5 off the '85 I pulled the AC from. Hoping it's a cheap fix. I'd really like to use it.

I am having the same issue. Were you ever able to fix it? if so, how? I have a very low milage truck with a mint original radio, and would like to fix it.
