Moving along. A arms are done and set aside. They were a pain to deal with. Notched the k member for ls1 ac compressor and also added a notch for running a brake line. Waiting on oil pan gasket to put everything back together.

Should have just went in to do everything at once. I actually had a discussion about taking the k member out to begin with but scrapped the idea originally.

Not much done today. Dropped the oil pan, cleaned and installed with a new gasket. Washed the used ac compressor, but not mounted yet.
Also bolted the mounts back to the block.

It's kinda surprising to see a pan gasket leaking on an LS. I had a rear main leaking pretty good on my old 4.8, but that seal likely failed because the camshaft that had lobes wearing off. The oil was glittery everytime I changed it, lol.

I've had the pan gasket and rear main seal replaced on my burb with the 5.3 and my truck with the 4.8 needs the same treatment. It happens with age.

Interesting. I guess I got out of the biz before it started becoming common.

for almost a 20 year old motor, it is doing decent. The front seal is also leaking, but I am not touching it at this time. Hoping to get it back together today for alignment tomorrow

Almost, but not done yet. Left to finish the oil change, drill couple of holes for mounting the brake line in a new location and install wheels.

Going for alignment tomorrow morning. Fresh oil, oil filter, secured the brake line, mounted wheels and readjusted height. Hood hits the strut brace, so that would need to be modified before installing.
