Its official, the 1:1 final drive and 8 mpg wasn't cuttin it.

Mods as follows:

- cross member moved 4 inches forward (frame should already have drilled holes, mine does ;) )

- 700r4 yoke. I just went down to the scrap yard and copped a 1/2 ton (front half) driveshaft $35, stuck it in the other half shaft and bolted down the center bearing. reused the th400 trans mount.

- TC adapting: Most of you would buy a flexplate adaptor. I, on the other hand, decided to go the cheap route and shaved the existing holes on the flywheel with a dremmel, since the the holes did not line up correctly to fit the bolts thru. Worked like a charm!:smoke2:

And yes that's a 4l60e converter.

- TV cable stud for Edlebrock 1405/1406 ($7)
- Bracket I bought on Amazon ($7).

Temp sensor is at the pressure port on driver side. Added Goop to prevent leaking fluid. Trans runs average 190-203F. I have factory oil cooler mounted behind the grill. Thinking about going bigger tho. Haven't decided yet.

Ground is wired for 4th-only TC lockup and have mounted 12v toggle switch with fuse.

And that's about it! This swap was worth every hour of it. i am now able to navigate the city quickly and more efficiently buwahhahaha:party36:
