I picked up a clean mint 86 GMC step side. I got a friend of mine who works in a junk yard that can get me a 2014 6.0 with I think he said 6L90e could have been 80E dont remember.

I know I can make the swap work easy. My thoughts are, how would it shift?? aftermarket stuff? or aftermarket shifter?

I really want to make this happen.. Let me know what I need to make this trans work in my truck! thanks..

Nice truck. If you can get the whole harness engine and trans harnesses that is and the computers it can be done seamlessly. If not there are controllers out there but they ain't cheap. Don't forget the throttle pedal, and cluster you may need elements of that too.

ditto above. It's easy if you get everything.

If you have access to the doner get the column it would be nice to have the +/- on the selector so you can control up shifts and down shifts as well as the tow/haul button. And if the doner has the integrated brake controller and abs system you would be wrapping a square around a 2014 truck just saying. I too have a friend that works at a recycler that how I get to collect big blocks and th400s.lol

I'm sure you can. I was just giving suggestions. Maybe you can adapt the selector from the 14 to the86. Or use a floor shifter that has the same functions as the 14 truck. I'm sure the +/- switch is just a low voltage pulse which could easily be duplicated.

look out if I ever get an older car. You 2wd folks make me jelly. At most, you may have to shorten/lengthen and or change the spline on your drive shaft.
