Anyone know If a wheel built for 5/8 studs can work with 1/2-20 with a insert to make up the difference?

Not a big deal but until I can buy a strange 9” Ford pro iron setup for my 73 short box I’d like to be able to run the wheels prior to if possible. I need new tires. Dry rot. I want to switch to a weld S71 bead lock 17x 9-10 ish on back. Currently I have 15” American racing rim w 295/50/15 which have very limited tire selection these days. All low speed rates also. The 5/8 would be more a final cosmetic look vs a real need. Power on ideal replacement engine prob 580-650ft lbs depending on money. Redone current 454 def less than those numbers.

Seems like it wouldn't be much different than running shank style lugnuts. Should work and be safe if the spacers fit properly.

Depends on the type of spacer.

If it was anything less than nearly press fit, I wouldn't wanna run it. Too much wiggle room that may wear out your new rims.

Also gonna wanna have a flange end bushing so it won't slip out and shift at any time.

Why not just drill out your axle and replace to 5/8" wheel studs?

That makes the most sense just change current studs. Thanks I didn’t even think of that.
