I have 2 diesel trucks in the 80s square and they both have it. It's possible it could have been used for something else. @bucket probably knows lol

It was used for various combos in the 80's too. Those various combos though, I don't know the rhyme or reason. I've had two '86 3/4 ton Suburbans, one a 350 4x4 and the other a 454 2wd. The 454 rig had it, but not the 4x4. Iirc, it just had a Service Engine Soon light... possibly due to the dual smog pumps, but I never saw it light up, even after removing the smog pumps. I also had an '83 K5 with it, and I think it was just housing an SES light too. I still have the bezel somewhere, I'd have to confirm. I have no idea why that rig had it though.

That looks like a pretty solid ride. I'm working on an '82 K1500 6.2 right now myself. I love those ole Detroit's.

The GMC is finally in the shop ! I will start the work next mounth. I've found a 4l80 to put behind the 6.2. I've to rebuild it too. Lot of work but it's a good solid truck. I've also to change the roof... anybody had always do that ?
