iv got a bone stock 454 with a th400 ready to be mounted to it. also the rear axle is your basic k10 3.42 ratio. the TC i tried to install ended up stripping the threads, so now currently in search of new TC. what is the best stall for this motor trans rear combination? also this truck will just be a pavement pounder and grocery getter.

A stock type stall would work best. There's no sense in running out the RPM on a stock 454 that makes all that grunt down low. What tire size are you running?

36's with 3.42's, good thing you're running a Th400 with some strength. Th400 is a fairly tall first gear too, so you don't need any stall whatsoever. Go stock stall with that set up. As bucket said, the peanut port headed 454 makes all it's power down low anyway, so all things considered, just go stock stall.

A low stall would probably even be better..
