350 to 700r4 selector

I purchased this truck and verified that it does have a 700R4 in it. But by the RPO's it came with a 3 speed (I assume a 350). So the selector is a 3 speed gear selector.
What else do I need to do besides purchanse a 4 speed selector so the selector is correct?

That's all you need. You may find that the indicator needle will be off what it's supposed to be, and the linkage will have to be adjusted, but other than that, you should be fine.

I read on the linkage being off so when I get some time to work on it, I will at least do that. The needle for the selector is broken, so it doubley needs to be replaced. It gives me a eye twitch when I see half-assed work. But I did buy this truck as a daily/project.

When you adjust that linkage, Put the gear selector in N, and use your hand and count the click and put the transmission in N. Then tighten your shift rod right there and it should be perfect.

The one video I watched did it from park but that would also explain why his was off when going into 1st. (his was an original 4 speed).
