Someone on here said that it's unnecessary. I can't remember who, and I've always thought it was. He said he ran headers with the one wire sensor, never got exhaust codes, and never noticed a difference upon switching to the three wire sensor. I don't know, though. I'd probably do it myself just to be safe. Should be a piece of cake. Just the signal wire, 12V wire, and ground.

It allows for more efficient O2 sensor operation. A bit more accurate fuel metering.

Right, because the old ones are pretty much self heating because of the manifold's heat and pressure restriction, and that's not the case with headers. That was my understanding as well.

Look in his thread big red bloody turd. He put a heated O2 in his 89 Burb.

just seems like asking for trouble searching for that.

I was thinking about doing for the better metering but was hoping for it to warm up faster.

All I was saying is he did it on his. Just gotta feed it 12v and ground and of coarse the signal wire. It's a good mod for sure.

That someone is me...I installed a "heated" o2 sensor as opposed to the single wire that the truck came with from the factory........

I didn't have any codes to begin with, but the popular census was that it had to be I nstalled to correct fueling...which it didn't. I tried it, wired it, installed it.......

well the new o2 sensor DIDN'T DO ****. It was a waste of time and money.
