Good day y'all,
Just picked up my first square body! It's a 1978 GMC C15 (Is that the GMC designation?) Royal Sierra. It features a bunch of things including a mild drop (2.5" spindles I think, removed two leaves out back), some retro 15x8/15x10s wrapped in budget fatties, and a crappy-but-usable stereo and gauges. I think it has a wheezy 350 and even wheezier TH350 with an open 12 bolt diff.
I intend to use this truck as a work truck for hauling **** to the dump, doing yard work, helping friends out and whatever else requires a good trucking. It'll also be my rolling project!! Yay! Eventually it'll be on air with a carbed LS, until then it gets nothing but the most budget/hacked ****.
To that end I found a set of GM transport wheels (22x9", 6" BS) that I have taken a healthy shine to but the tires available are 285/40r22 which are somewhere around 2" wider and taller than stock (235/75r15 29" OD) and I have no idea if they'll fit and I can't test fit beforehand. Also required are 2" spacer/adapters to go from 5x5 to 6x5.5. Does anybody know if that size will fit or have any direction to point a new guy in? Thanks!
