Interesting. I always thought they were basically a 2500 Burb, but with a Tahoe frame and rear suspension. I must not have ever looked at the trans in one. Or if I did, I certainly didn't pay much attention.

This isn't meant as a slight to anyone that owns a Kia. Kias are designed (badly) as cheap A-B transportation with very light duty, poorly made parts with poor longevity. There is a reason why replacement engines are so hard to find.
If Walmart sold vehicles, a KIA would be their flagship.

They weren't that bad 10-15 years ago. They were pretty decent until they started pushing 130k or so.

I understand. In my experience, they have no tolerance to a lack of maintenance.
