So I sold a tercel that despite all the work I put in needed much more... It was intended to be my girls car, but she wanted a Saturn through the whole process ( don't ask me why, but she decided on that vehicle). It turns out we got a headache tercel. My dad had a saturn just sitting, so gave it to us for free... This will be a get her running/ maintenance log more than a build, per se....but I am sitting in dmv right now so have time to kill....

So before I could even get goin, it had two flats, so I looked on good ole craigslist, and saw a part out, that I wanted two tires from to get it rolling...
So I had gotten two tires, they turned out to be 15" steelies vs 16" oems, but they roll for $50....

My dad I am starting to think is getting more and more like a horder so imagine a car filled with nasty trash, and stains from coffee, slushies, you name it, plus cigarette smoker,, just filthy.... So after cleaning it out grabbing big stuff, I backed her out...

I drove streets and at a gas station filled her up, aird the tires, and headed out with turn signal switched amd wiper switches non working and rough idle...

We did make it hime so I washed her but its the kind of peeling clear coat that looks magnificent wet but dusty when dry...

Here you can see the tip of the filthy inside... I am trying to detail the abuse away, but may end up scrapping seats and gutting rug if I cant get it there....

I'll try the emgine bay pics.... I went to autozone for air filter, oil and filter and pkugs and wires to smog....spent $180 ( also got a batt cable for my truck that worked out)..

Back seat looks like location of a mob hit! I guess the Saturn’s were pretty good cars in their day so if Dad kept the maintenance up could be a good first car. The price was right anyway.

Could you see the pics.....???? I thought they didnt load....

Yeah cant beat free, but oscar the grouch was previous owner...lol... My grandpa was religious with maintenance but sold it cheap to him where it stopped... It was cool taking out the old filter (think from 2014)and seeing my grandpas date and signature written in the filter when I removed it...

So I am now at dmv about two hours and heard other talk of 7 hour wait...

So issues right now.....

No turn signals....
Thinking it's this, but I changed horn fuse and it still dont work, so may be bigger electrical issue...

Needs a serpentine....

Back window regulators needed both side... Moonroof has closing 100% issue.... Weatherstripping in pass door... Get the interior presentable, but should roll after that...

So just got home from dmv 1830, got there 1400.... My dad said he had it non op and it would be $40, they said hasnt been teg since 2015, so was $391 to reg....$58 to smog... $160 autozone parts so far....didnt really have the money due to the trip, but how can you pass up a free car... Normally I take off dealer plate placards, but will pay homage to my Daly City, CA granparents with it...
