Good afternoon..... So after 8 years I'm finally working on my truck a 1978 Chevy C10 1/2 ton, I got in my vehicle and like a dummy I grabbed on the steering wheel when I did that I heard something break and I was changing out the ignition where the key goes because I lost the key. When I go from park and try to run through the gears I can't feel the gears it literally just goes up and down I don't know where the gears are at what is causing this problem? If you guys can please help me out with the part name and the part number that would mean so much to me. This was my dad's truck and after all these years I'm finally going to work on it I've got it started but I can't figure out where the gear is out because the shifter is completely sloppy which my shifter is on the column.
