1973 GMC C6000 Rear axle spindle nut tool.

1973 GMC C6000 Rear axle spindle nut (gm part no 473636) 6pt lug 3 1/2" socket tool source needed. This not the hex head socket. the nut is older style with slots going from the OD 3 3/4" to the 3". The ID is 2 1/2". On newer nuts the slots o from the OD to the ID. Any help much appreciated. jimk

Pics? It sounds like the same nut that is on a 14BFF? If so, you can rent or buy the socket from most big box stores.

I did send Jim a message. The tool I have at home is for a "14 bolt" rear. Yes looks the same but the Chevy C60 or GMC C6000 is much larger. Here is the C30 tool, only 2.5" to the out side edge, it would fit inside the C60 axle nut.

The C60 tool is an inch larger in diameter. Jim, tool number on Monday. Try what I explained. Unless the lock ring failed and the two nuts jammed together, they will come right off.
