I have a 700r4 unfortunately and I believe the t-case is a 205. Are there any advantages to divorcing them other than front shaft angle?

Very Very rare to see a NP205 behind a 700r4. If ever.

700r4 is the is the longest tranny that came in a square with a 208 you would have the best front drive shaft angle possable with a stock tranny and t case

the rear slip yoke would be the only bad thing with your combo

you can get a clocking ring and clock your t case down for a better front shaft angle

what size tire are you running and how do you plan to use the truck
if you are running big tires and use it off road you might want to get a stronger tranny and t case

Right now the truck has 31x10.50 but it will have a 12" lift with 38's or 40's soon I hope and mainly be a pavement pounder on Saturday evenings. Maybe hit a few trails... Not really into mud and rocks lol

light use like that it should hold up ok

i think i would try the 700r4 208 in stock form if you have problems clock it down to help the front shaft angle

maybe think about 10'' lift instead

Is it easy to install? Do I need to modify my crossmember?
