    Front brakes

Your right, it can be a crap shoot with the remans, but what else are we gonna do? Id love to walk into the local Chevrolet dealer and buy new parts but we cant, so were stuck with rebuilt parts. My alternator, starter, MC, brake booster, steering box, rag joint, radiator, calipers, blower...

    Front brakes

NAPA Premium calipers with all new boots, O rings and seals with a Lifetime Warranty. Ill trust them over a 30 or 40 year old caliper that is more than likely seeping/starting to leak. I dont understand the fear of re manufactured parts. If a guy buys NAPA Premium, MOOG or AC Delco re...

    Front brakes

New calipers with new zerks, bolts, piston are nice and only about $20 a side. Why would any one do a complete brake job and not spend an extra $40? I wasnt about to re use 40 year old calipers on a new brake job.

    Front brakes

Your going to have to measure your rotors to see if they are 1 1/4" or 1", no other way to know. If your going to do rotors and pads, yes definitely replace the bearings. I would buy complete new calipers also, sure is alot nicer to work with. I hope your rubber brake lines are good, because...

    Stock suspension messed up?

Im betting its the coil spring also, mine was doing the same thing. The top edge of the spring is collapsed and you wont see it until you pull it out of the upper control arm.

    My rear brakes

Replaced my entire rear brake system and had the same issues, rear brakes wouldnt bleed. Pedal was soft/spongy. We simply removed the metal line from the rear of the master cylinder, screwed in a old metal line and crimped the end. (We didnt remove the front line to the master cylinder.) After...

    Finally got her dropped! 3.5/5"

Thanks. No build thread, but its fairly easy. 3.5" lower for front. For the front, 2.5" drop spindles and 1" drop coil springs. Replace your factory spindle with the drop spindle and swap out the front coils. Front done. Rear is a 5" flip kit and shock extenders. basically set the axle on top...

    Getting close

It was dark when we finished, I will definitely post pics tomorrow. I went old school on the wheels. I think I'm going to have to move the lower spring plate to the offset hole also.

    Getting close

Finally got it lowered. Very happy with the look of the 3.5/5. Western chassis makes good parts but damn, some things could be better. Shock extender holes were not big enough to fit the almost impossible to tighten bolts. Not that big of deal, but having to run to town and get a 9/16" bit is...

    Brake lines with drop? Help!!

Got the 79 front lowered, all I lack is connecting the brake lines. Bought new rubber brake lines from NAPA and they connect fine to the caliper, but when the hose comes up, it bends hard and stays firmly right against the upper ball joint castle nut. This will rub a hole in it and I dont...

Almost got the 3.5/5 inch drop done. I had every part for a completely new drop/steering/suspension/brake replacement in the 79 and I mean every part, this front end is all new. All I was lacking was a left lower complete control arm, its shipping today, man these are hard to find! One...
