One quirk I noted on this 13 burb is that the buttons on the rear climate control stay illuminated all the time. That shouldn’t be. Bad control module?

Thanks but man I have checked that thing so many times! I even unplugged the line when I shut it down just to be sure. No luck there.

So, with the slightly warmer weather it’s worse and smells rich when it does start. I wish it would give me a code or something.

Yes to both. scrubbed the crap out of that throttle body with SeaFoam deep-creep and an old tooth brush. then rinsed it with carb clean and wiped it out with a rag. Giving throttle makes no difference.. tried part throttle and also going in to clear flood mode. I tried giving the manifold...

Still Struggling Typically acts up when luke warm ~120F No start for 3-5 attempts. It actually starts and immediately dies. Here is the sequence of events: - Turn key to start - Engine turns over (count of one) - Engine fires for count of one and dies kicking starter back. - Sometimes starter...

Thanks! holding the pedal at full throttle tonight had no positive effect. Partial throttle seemed better but when it geeks out it takes a few tries no matter what I do.

I don’t really suspect the EVAP either. And I agree about the injector leak. Seems it would only affect the cylinder it was related to and trow a misfire for that cylinder. I was starting to suspectthe CTS because the issue seems to be related to the engine temperature. And happens when its...

I understand what your saying. My understanding of the fuel system is the pump sends fuel to the rail with is regulated and excess returned by the regulator. When the key is off the pressure should be held in the rail by the check valve in the pump and the return pressure setting of the...

It does and it usually starts right up. In the morning there is zero pressure and she fires up without even priming first. just turn the key.. When it sits for a bit after reaching temperature it will start hard sometimes.

Yes it does. I will have to check if it does. What are you thinking the relationship to the EVAP system is?

I had that coming! Well, at least my fuel gauge reads correctly now too. I have verified that it loses pressure but I don't know where. When I shut it down the pressure will rise from the running 42PSI to 48PSI and hold rock steady for 15 minutes. It will slowly drop from there over the next...

Yes, replaced the regulator on the rail. I have tried applying throttle but can’t say if it helps or not. It usually starts on the second or third try every time it acts up without throttle. If I get another chance I will try that again and report back.

Hey guys, Long time no see! I have been busy with life and not much fun. Wife and kids are good and growing. Looking for some help with my 03 Burb. I am at my wits end with an occasional hard start. It always starts right up cold and usually restarts fine within a few minutes of shutting down...

The only outlying issue may be how tight the nut is on the pinion. It was pretty loose when I went to take it off. I would say it was maybe around 20-30 lb-ft to get the marks lined up. In approximatly 1/4 turn from there it snugged up. I was holding the yoke with an 18” pipe wrench and using...

Well, I don’t know.... I pulled the drive flange off again, knocked the seal off and cought all the fluid that came out in a clean pan. The front pinion bearing is perfect and the race looks good too. There are no large metal shavings in the fluid. If I swish the fluid around in my shallow drain...

I guess I am going to go back under this thing and inspect that front bearing. I am also going to catch he drained lube in a glass container so I can look at it more closely. I will need another seal. I should have looked at it before I replaced the seal yesterday. It was basically in my hand...

Am I correct in my understanding that regardless of manufacture the bearings should be within a couple thousandths of each other size wise? So the shims under the one in there now should set the pinion at the correct depth in the housing when using a new bearing?

I’m tempted to do this. Mine is a daily driver and I don’t have backup. I am not against doing additional setup But I don’t have the tools.
