    4x4 Hearse

Speedway and Jegs both sell them. They look like they would be very easy to make in the shop. I have seen home made ones on Pirate 4x4 in the past. I like the fact that you don't have so many sets of bushings to wear out. For now I have to go with old school shackles because I already have my...

    Brakes on differentials?

Those axles are referred to as top loader axles. The pinion brakes that you see work very efficiently If you have a locking differentials. If you have open differentials and one of your tires comes off the ground that axle doesn't help you stop. That set up is used off road. Although there have...

    Ford Dana 60 install questions

I put a Dana 60 from a 1989 F350 and a divorced 205 transfer case from a mid 70's Ford in my 73 GMC. I did have to fab the spring hangers and the cross member for the transfer case. All the steering components are available from aftermarket sources. It all depends on how much work your willing...

This is our 1953 Cadillac hearse project. This is what 20 inches of lift and 44 inch Pitbull tires look like on a hearse. I've just got the rear spring hangers done at this point. Put the rear axle under it to see where the shock mounts need to be. Me standing by the bumper.

    3" Body Lift Question

A body lift is a last resort! Oh sure its a cheap and easy way to get more tire clearance but not the best. I'm not going to tell you that they are dangerous, thats a matter of opinion. If you install it you will have to cut the bottom of the fan shroud or split it in half and drop the bottom...

    Rockwell Axles

You can run rockwells on the street, the military does it every day! A 44 inch tire is about as small you would want to run. 46" or 49" would be better. These axles have 6.71 gears. The military drives these trucks at about 55 MPH max when on the highway. These axles are referred to as top...
