    350 ID Help

Yeah, the plug is there. My old engine had the same exact plug, same spot. But it was a 305 with a 2 bolt main.

    350 ID Help

I was just curious really, Not really worried about it for parts. Just interested in it. Pulled the pan it is a 4bolt main. Just needs tons of cleaning. Head gasket was bad on both side letting water into 2 cylinders. Some one thought stacking 4 spark plug non-foulers would help.

    350 ID Help

Well I don't have to have a 4 bolt. I was under the impression that they were better. So 2 bolt is fine by me. Hopefully get this sucker rebuilt soon, need my truck back.

    350 ID Help

Well I can't get another free. My cousin owed me for work so he gave me this. I already broke one bolt, but I should be able to get it out. Couldn't get the bolts for the exhaust off rounded the heads over. But I will get them off maybe tomorrow. I am going to check the cylinders and see how...

    350 ID Help

Yeah very nasty lol going to pull the heads and see what it looks like. Ok I will keep that in mind. I got this one for "free". I work a guy that has tons of sbc's laying around so getting another wouldn't be hard. Basically debating if I want to do the massive about of cleaning it will need.

    305 No power.

Alright so I finally picked up the other engine last night. My cousin was saying that it most likely is just the head gasket. But I am pulling the heads off anyways and will see. Today I might get to pull the heads off to see what I am really into. Just don't have a engine stand at the moment...

    305 No power.

Well I am thinking about using either 12-235-2, or 12-300-4 from comp cams. 12-300-4 looks better for the 991 heads. http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam-specs/Details.aspx?csid=70&sb=2

I am more concerned about low to mid rpm power. Which would be good for that the 991s?

    305 No power.

Alright, I think I will look for some heads for it. Which heads are better in your opinion?

Well I have the 305 heads. I mean since they are going to work, why not? I am not dead set on it. If they work they work, if they don't well I will get 350 heads for it.

    305 No power.

How would either of those cams fair with 305 heads? I am planning on using the 305 heads, and yeah I saw the other post talk about the 12-300-4. I like both, but I am wondering what kind of crazy things will I run into with running the 305 heads with those?

    305 No power.

Alright so I have been thinking this over, and well. I have been wanting to do alot of work on the truck not with just the motor. But everything. So for sure, I am going to basically rebuild the 350, and the transmission. And do work on the front and rear end. And maybe interior, if...

    305 No power.

Yeah, I have heard some people say it can lead to detonation problems/overheating. But then others have no problems at all.
