Thanks for the replies, I have a 2002 K3500 NV4500 that came with the truck when I got it. The guy I got it from said it would fit into the 87 with an adaptor, trans is a brand new rebuild and was really wondering if it will make that much difference on the mileage with a 5 speed. Hey guys, newbie from Southaven, MS and new to square body trucks. Just got a 1987 1 ton LWB 4x4 with 454 CI FI and 4 speed, 205 transfer and 410 gears. Been reading a bunch of info on swapping to a NV4500 and am now more confused than when I started and was hoping to get some help...- CMCG
