Double Cardan Joint: Is there a better way?

I've heard good things from there before. I see they have one to replace mine. So based on the info posted by @77 K20, swapping to a single joint would also require adjusting the pinion angle to match. That might be a little more than I bargained for. All that stuff is pretty rusted up...

Double Cardan Joint: Is there a better way?

I would think a single joint would be fine. The truck has 33s on it with an unknown dump truck helper spring under the front for lift. It doesn’t seem to have a very extreme angle or anything. It’s a farm truck so it will see a fair amount of mud but I won’t be flexing over rocks. I’m not...

Double Cardan Joint: Is there a better way?

I've rebuilt this thing twice and it just came apart again the other day. I guess I'm not smart enough to pull this job off, so I was thinking, is there a better way? Has technology improved enough over the years to see some kind of replacement for the double cardan? What about a driveshaft out...

    Axle rubs spindle

So just to close this one out for anyone who happens upon it in the future, it seems it was the center u joint in the front driveshaft. It slung a bearing cap while going down the road, taking the cardan ball and what not with it. Or maybe the cardan joint went bad and took the u joint, either...

    White Tripod Tow Mirrors

Not yet my dude. Worked pretty much all week last week and trying to get some work done on the pasture. As soon as I get them in I will gets some pics up. The frames need a new coat of paint before the they get new glass anyway.

    White Tripod Tow Mirrors

Thanks @Rusty Nail, but since they aren’t OEM style, I’ll pass. Thank you for taking the time to find them.

    White Tripod Tow Mirrors

I’m still in for some white ones if you find them. I forget to check back in threads sometimes and I never get a notification when someone posts.

    White Tripod Tow Mirrors

I hit the Craigslist everyday. I found one but it was attached to a door and over 3 hours away. Then again, I’ve never done a specific search for mirrors. Uh, it didn’t dawn on me that they might have a pattern for it already. I don’t think we have a local glass shop, but there should be one...

    White Tripod Tow Mirrors

Thanks man! I was soooo close to getting the glass out of the stainless ones. I was like, “I got this.”, then it shattered. I almost broke down and bought some stainless ones, I thought I’d try here before admitting defeat.

    White Tripod Tow Mirrors

I'd really like to have a set. I know, I can buy stainless ones all day long, I want white. I've tried tracing inside the gasket. I've tried to trace the metal frame of the mirror. I can't get the curves right, maybe you could, but I can't. I really just need the glass. But I'll buy the glass...

Tech: How to Identify Original, GM Replacement, and Aftermarket Body Panels (Fenders, Hoods, Doors)

Guess who just found out the fenders he bought as OEM, aren't? This would be a good sticky somewhere.

    Axle rubs spindle

Just to update. I got the new spindle nuts and lock ring installed the other day. I loosened the outside lock but with my fingers. The spindle nut itself took very little effort to loosen from the spindle. I’m really hoping this is the issue. Going to start putting some miles on it and will...

If you’re talking about the spindle bearing, it’s there. That’s the numbers stamped on it on the inner right side of the spindle. I’ve got new nuts on the way, the bearings and races only have maybe 500 miles on them. I did degrease everything while I was in there.

Dash was cut for DIN radio

I like the $170 one. AM/FM/AUX would be great, I don't need Bluetooth. I just have to convince myself of that.

@DoubleDingo @dvdswan @K201979 I don't know how I missed your responses, I thought I kept a close eye on this thread, sorry about that. The spindle bearing is there and the seal was but I pulled it for the picture. The only seal thing I'm not sure about is the once circled in red. It wasn't...

Thank you. As I look at the pictures now, it really doesn't look much different except the cluster. Those before pics were like the second day of the project. That dash that's in it now is cracked and doesn't look real good but the original dash would disintegrate if you looked at it. This is a...

    Post your interiors

Been looking forward to making this post since I saw the thread. Mainly because the truck hasn't had an interior in over 5 years. It does now. Sure the door panels and seat belts aren't the right color, but they are there. Still needs a dash cover, glove box that doesn't fall out and new floor...
