    1978 Scottsdale Drag Link Question

I’ve got an ORD 4” lift on my ‘78 K20, the drag link angle seems excessive to me, but this is without the cab & box on the chassis. Hopefully the springs will settle somewhat…

    4L80 on FB Market Place

I’m always looking for possible parts in my area. Saw this today, I have no experience with the later model stuff. I’m not asking about the price, I always negotiate. It’s the trans itself, year, etc.. What do you think?

    Mandrel exhaust shop

The manufacturer I work for has a nice hydraulic bender, it’s used for steel tubing such as hand rails etc… I’m not sure how many dies it has, but you can bet if it can be used for a custom exhaust system I’ll be all over it!

I don’t know the thread size but you really need the proper installation tool. It will have a thrust bearing.

Adding 4WD, where does the shifter go?

On my build, a ‘78 that had a 203, I’m going to adapt the 208 shifter to the existing hole in the hump. It will definitely need to be enlarged, but I don’t have any exact measurements yet, the cab is off the frame.

    PLEASE HELP!!!

The ignition switch itself is mounted down on the steering column. It is actuated by a rod connected to the key cylinder. The ignition switch has adjustment, it can be moved to align correctly with the key position.

Adding 4WD, where does the shifter go?

I believe in the pre-‘80s trucks with 203 & 205 TCs the shifter mounted to the TC itself, thus the hole in the hump for the shifter had to be in a particular position. The ‘80s trucks with the 208 the shifter mounts to the hump itself, with the single adjustable linkage rod to the TC… the...

    Fat tire electric scooter

Automatic transmissions, disc brakes, electronic ignition, fuel injection, etc.. Just a few of the many innovations in the history of automobile technology, and all met with skepticism… Back to the original post… I’m not purchasing an electric scooter, and I’m not suggesting anyone else...

    Fat tire electric scooter

It’s the first one I’ve seen in person, the tech was very impressive. The motor is totally enclosed in the rear wheel, with tiny hydraulic disc brakes systems front & rear. A small magnetic card for a key, three power modes, and you better hang on in the fastest one!

    TH400--Steel Transmission Lines VS Flexible

The trans lines aren’t difficult, they just run along beside the oil pan then bend up to the radiator. Use the small S style clips to keep them together. The correct flexible lines with the right fittings are probably going to be more expensive than the pre bent lines from LMC…

Proportioning valve vs. load sensing valve

I know you’ve got old lines with seized connections but you’re gonna have to get some loose to find out where the brake fluid is.. or isn’t when the brakes are applied. Use the proper line wrenches. Replacement lines are readily available, or you can bend your own. Always use anti-seize on the...

    D70 spindle nut socket?

I just went through that a few months ago on my 14 bolt. Mine were in bad shape, I was able to get them loose with a punch. I replaced all of them with the square ones that are currently available and fit my socket.

How can i separate my rotor from hub? Looks like its all one piece need help!

“Burnishing” the shoes of drum brakes is from way back in the day.. and is still advised for trailers, especially large heavy RVs. I do it after a brake rebuild on my fifthwheel trailer. Disc brakes, I’m sure it’s advised but probably hardly ever done in todays world.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

I got this old pump many years ago from a small marina on a lake in central KY. I have friends that have the older visible style pumps, but I’m not that old and never used them. This is the style that was used when I learned to drive. It took a lot of work to get it back to this shape.. it’s...
